Future PLC chose the Assembly Rooms for a presentation and evening party, thanks to its elegant and flexible event space and the innovative catering provided by Searcys.
Introduction
Needing a local, inspired, conference and dinner venue, Future PLC chose the Assembly Rooms on the basis of capacity, flexibility of spaces and service, the caterer’s use of locally sourced suppliers and the city centre location.
Challenges
This event was booked with a short lead-in time and high delegate numbers (x450) and had specialist catering requirements involving a unique and theatrical delivery of food service. We were also required to turn some rooms around from the daytime presentation to the evening party in a very short space of time. A specialist AV company was also brought in to facilitate the Client’s specific needs.
Solution
Whilst the initial enquiry was placed by an Agency, Future PLC dealt with our event teams direct to quickly organise the final details and achieve all their requirements. The catering team swiftly developed a bespoke package following detailed discussions with the Client on their specific needs. With a capacity of x500 in the Ball Room and the flexibility of the interconnecting spaces, the Assembly Rooms was ideally suited to accommodate their event.
Catering
Daytime: The client chose a Conference Package to include teas and coffees on arrival and midmorning, a finger buffet lunch, and mid-afternoon teas and coffees with pastries. Evening: Drinks were served to guests on entering the Tea Room, following which a delicious range of bowl food was circulated to all delegates, as part of a standing reception. Searcys also specially arranged for a selection of their local suppliers to demonstrate their produce for guests to try, including specialist breads and a cheese iron from The Thoughtful Bread Company, an ice-cream trike from Marshfield and a tasting of local ales from Box Steam Brewery, who also brought a special guest ‘Isambard Kingdom Brunel’ to entertain the guests!
Testimionial
“We have received a ton of positive feedback from across the company. The whole of your team were incredibly helpful in both the run up and on the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble and any requests were carried out quickly and efficiently.” Head of Events Future PLC
Conclusion
Due to the success of this event, Future then decided to book their Christmas Party for 2014 at the Roman Baths and Pump Room on an exclusive hire basis. With high guest numbers and similarly unique catering requirements, the party was thoroughly enjoyed by all. “It was an absolutely fantastic event. Lots of good feedback about the venue and set up and compliments about the food (again). It really was a great evening – thank you.” Executive Assistant, Future PLC
