COVID-19: Advice for our clients

In line with government guidance, the Pump Room and Roman Baths, Assembly Rooms and Victoria Art Gallery will be open for small weddings from 29th March 2021.

The Roman Baths, Assembly Rooms and Victoria Art Gallery, are perfect locations for the smallest of weddings. In line with government guidance these venues will be available for small wedding ceremonies with up to six people from 29th March, increasing to 15 people from 12th April (subject to government approval). The Guildhall will be available for weddings from April.

We appreciate that circumstances are different for each customer and so, for any of our customers who have event bookings about which they are concerned we are happy to transfer any deposit paid to a comparable future date.

We are also offering refunds in line with the latest government advice.  So if we can’t accommodate a booking due to the restrictions that are in place, and an alternative date is not practicable, we will offer you a full refund.

We will keep you informed on our website and social media channels with any information and updates.  Please do stay in touch by following us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Searcys and catering enquiries

Searcys have adjusted their style of service and their minimum numbers policy for wedding receptions, to reflect the restrictions currently in place. For any catering enquiries please contact  [email protected] or call 01225 444477.

Keeping you safe

We’ve put in place additional measures and restrictions at events for the safety of both guests and our staff. These are as follows:

  • Masks are to be worn at all times during events held at the venues, unless food or drink is being consumed (during ceremonies this does not apply to the wedding couple or Officiant).
  • All guests will be asked to use the provided hand sanitiser on entrance to the venue.  Hand sanitising stations will be available throughout the venue. We have also implemented an enhanced cleaning regime before, during and after events.
  • Guests will be asked to confirm that they have not had symptoms of Covid-19 or been asked to self-isolate in the last 14 days.
  • Guests may be asked to arrive in slightly staggered times to minimise crowding and queues at the entrance.
  • Guests will be asked to follow the latest Government advised social distancing measures. Our staff have been issued with appropriate PPE and trained to be vigilant in maintaining necessary physical distancing.
  • The enclosed staffed cloakroom may be out of service – but we will provide coat rails for guests to hang their own coats. Please note large bags will not be admitted.
  • WCs may be unisex, individual accessible facilities remain available.
  • Table layouts may need to be prepared to follow social distancing measures (household groups).  This will be in line with Public Health advice and we can offer smaller tables to suit the group size better if preferred.
  • Searcys will be happy to share details of their additional measures, and any restrictions in place, relating to the catering aspect of events.
