If getting married now is important to you, you don’t have to delay. It’s completely possible to have a wonderful wedding at one of Bath’s Historic Venues. Whilst weddings at the present time may be smaller and perhaps simpler, they are no less meaningful or beautiful.
Timeless venues perfect for intimate and elopement weddings
The Roman Baths, Assembly Rooms and Victoria Art Gallery, with their unique charm and atmosphere, are perfect locations for the smallest of weddings. In line with government guidance these venues are available for small wedding ceremonies for up to 15 people. We are also able to offer seated wedding receptions for up to 15 people.
At the Roman Baths ceremonies can take place at either 8.30am or 7.30pm. The unique and historic venue is outdoor and sheltered, with plenty of space for guests to distance. The Terrace overlooking the steaming waters of the Great Bath is an atmospheric spot for a meal afterwards, and the events team can help plan your seating to meet government guidelines.
The eclectic range of artworks at the Victoria Art Gallery offer a quirky backdrop for a small wedding ceremony. The venue needs little dressing or styling if you are keeping things simple.
Whilst the Grade I listed Assembly Rooms and opulent Guildhall are most frequently associated with large events, it is still perfectly possible to marry under a chandelier.
Book with confidence
“We count ourselves lucky to have been working with such an understanding venue. The Bath's Historic Venues team were the best people to have on our side throughout this whole experience, they were great at communicating with us about the new guidelines and letting us know what was our responsibility and what was theirs. We changed our date twice and both times it was no stress, this helped us so much and gave us the confidence to go ahead with the day.” Pippa, July 2020
We are offering refunds in line with the latest government advice - if we need to postpone your wedding due to the pandemic, we will offer a full refund or reschedule your wedding to another comparable date. We will not charge you any cancellation or postponement fees.
Keeping you safe

Marry now, party later
“Having a lovely wedding is still 100% possible, you just have to be a little flexible and accept the idea that you get to celebrate over a much longer period of time.” Pippa, July 2020
Couples who hold an intimate ceremony at the Roman Baths can take advantage of our two part-wedding offer: If you have a ceremony before April 2021 you’ll receive a 15% discount on the hire of your chosen venue for a party at a later date. You won’t pay anything for the party element until you have chosen a date. For further information, terms and conditions visit: bathvenues.co.uk/marry-now-and-party-later
